Hydrochlorotitanic Acid, H2TiCl6
Titanic chloride dissolves in concentrated hydrochloric acid, forming a yellow liquid which contains hydrochlorotitanic acid, H2TiCl6. Ammonium titanichloride, (NH4)2TiCl6.2H2O, forms in yellow crystals when the theoretical quantity of ammonium chloride is shaken with the hydrochloric acid solution of titanium tetrachloride; pyridine, quinoline, and aniline form similar complex salts.
