Titanium Tri-iodide, TiI3






Titanium Tri-iodide has been obtained in the form of the hexa-hydrate TiI3.6H2O by the electrolytic reduction of titanium tetra- iodide, TiI4. It forms a very unstable, violet, crystalline mass.
